Measuring, cutting, installing and repairing soft and resilient floor coverings.
4423-11 Floor Finisher Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing may be required.
4423-11 Floor Finisher Tasks Include:
- preparing surface for covering and removing baseboard trims
- measuring areas to be covered or consulting plans to estimate quantities of floor covering materials required
- measuring, cutting and fixing underlay materials
- laying covering materials over floor, matching patterns, cutting shapes around fixtures and trims edges
- securing floor coverings and fitting edge trims in doorways
- may be installing wall, ceiling, counter and bench coverings
- may be laying parquetry blocks or resilient floor coverings
