Cutting and shaping hard and soft stone blocks and masonry slabs for the construction and renovation of stone structures and monumental masonry.
4416-13 Stonemason Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing may be required.
4416-13 Stonemason Tasks Include:
- operating machines and hand tools to cut, shape and polish stone
- designing and cutting monumental masonry including lettering
- constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks
- may be laying stone paving
- may be working on-site or in stone yards
- may be fixing stone facades to buildings
