Installing, maintaining, repairing and patrolling electrical sub-transmission and distribution systems.
4313-11 Electrical Power line Tradesperson Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing may be required.
4313-11 Electrical Power line Tradesperson Tasks Include:
- installing earth stakes, poles and guy wires
- checking safety of operating conditions for working on electrical equipment and distribution systems of all voltages
- installing or services aerial equipment such as cross arms, insulators, transformers, street lights and customer supply points
- covering conductors with insulating materials
- joining overhead conductors using compression fittings, and adjusting tension
- performing emergency repairs and de-energising of conductors
