4311-15 Lift Mechanic
Lift Electrician
Assembling, installing, adjusting, maintaining and repairing electric and hydraulic lifts and escalators.
4311-15 Lift Mechanic Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing is required.
4311-15 Lift Mechanic Tasks Include:
- interpreting specifications and drawings and laying out lift site
- installing guides and verifying alignment of lifts
- installing cables, counterweights, pumps, motor foundations, escalator drives, elevator cars, doors, entrance frames and control panels
- installing safety and control devices
- connecting lift wiring
- testing and adjusting lift assemblies, components, controls and safety devices
- conducting maintenance programs on lifts and escalators
- diagnosing and repairing faults in lifts
- repairing lift brakes
