4216-11 Vehicle Trimmer
Installing, repairing and replacing the interior trim of vehicles, such as seats, linings, floor coverings and door trims.
4216-11 Vehicle Trimmer Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing may be required.
4216-11 Vehicle Trimmer Tasks Include:
- preparing new vehicle trim work according to drawings and sketches
- removing old coverings or fittings from used vehicles and takes new measurements of trim requirements
- selecting and cutting out pieces of fabric, vinyl or leather using shears or electrical cutting tools
- sewing pieces together using heavy-duty sewing machines
- installing internal trim in vehicles such as lining, floor coverings and armrests
- attaching door trims, rubber seals, locks and handles
