Making, repairing, cleaning and adjusting watches and clocks.
4115-13,Watch and Clock Maker and Repairer Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required.
4115-13 Watch and Clock Maker and Repairer Tasks Include:
- examining timepieces to determine sources of malfunctions
- disassembling, repairing and reassembling timepieces fitting and adjusting parts as required
- diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing defective parts using hand tools and specialised equipment
- lubricating moving parts and demagnetising mechanisms
- replacing watch and clock faces
- setting and checking timing
- may be estimating costs and preparing quotes for repairs
- may be making new timepieces
