3993-27 Other Sports Coach
Coaching, training and instructing other sportspersons by analysing their performances and developing their abilities.
3993-27 Other Sports Coach Skill Level:
An AQF Diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years relevant experience is required. Sometimes relevant experience is required as well as, or in place of, formal qualifications or experience. Registration or licensing may be required.
3993-27 Other Sports Coach Tasks Include:
- observing performances of sportspersons
- coaching or instructing sportspersons by demonstrating techniques
- overseeing practices and evaluating sportspersons' physical condition
- prescribing routines and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles and improve fitness
- planning and directing game strategies, developing play patterns, analysing game progress and motivates and instructing players
- conducting after game analysis of play, evaluating performances and making changes in strategy
- may be demonstrating and teaching body movements and skills, and explaining safety measures
- may be recommending special diets
- may be rendering first aid to injured persons
