3993-19 Gymnastics Coach
Coaching, training and instructing gymnasts by analysing their performances and developing their abilities.
3993-19 Gymnastics Coach Skill Level:
An AQF Diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years relevant experience is required. Sometimes relevant experience is required as well as, or in place of, formal qualifications or experience. Registration or licensing may be required.
3993-19 Gymnastics Coach Tasks Include:
- observing and analysing performances of gymnasts
- coaching or instructing gymnasts by demonstrating techniques
- overseeing training and evaluating gymnasts' physical condition
- prescribing routines and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles and improve fitness
- may be planning and direct routines for elite gymnasts
- may be teaching and demonstrating skills, techniques and use of gymnastic apparatus to children and others
- may be recommending special diets
- may be rendering first aid to injured persons
