Competing in sporting events.
3993-17 Other Sportsperson Skill Level:
An AQF Diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years relevant experience is required. This occupation requires high levels of physical fitness, sporting ability and personal commitment as well as, or in place of, formal qualifications or experience. Registration or licensing may be required.
3993-17 Other Sportsperson Tasks Include:
- training for events under the guidance of coaches to improve fitness, skills and mental preparation
- assessing other competitors and conditions at venues
- deciding on strategies in consultation with coaches
- practicing, and playing in competitions
- may be undertaking promotional and media duties
- may be coaching junior or other teams, and running coaching clinics
- may be arranging financial sponsorship or contracts
