3421-15 Residential Care Officer
Providing care and supervision for children or disabled persons in group housing or government institutions.
3421-15 Residential Care Office Skill Level:
An AQF Diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years relevant experience is required. Sometimes relevant experience is required in addition to the formal qualification.
3421-15 Residential Care Office Tasks Include:
- ensuring residents are washed, dressed, fed and ready for educational and recreational activities
- organising and participating in educational and recreational activities
- supervising residents during domestic activities such as dining and showering
- assisting with social and living skills, and training residents unable to live independently or work in open employment
- enforcing behavioural standards, compiling disciplinary reports and assisting in implementing remedial measures
- may be assisting in serving meals and performing other housekeeping tasks
