3125-13 Mechanical Engineering Technician
Conducting tests of mechanical systems and assembling and installing mechanical assemblies in support of
Mechanical Engineers and
Mechanical Engineering Associates.
3125-13 Mechanical Engineering Technician Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate IV or higher qualification or at least 3 years relevant experience is required. Sometimes relevant experience is required in addition to the formal qualification. Registration or licensing may be required.
3125-13 Mechanical Engineering Technician Tasks Include:
- assembling and installing new or modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools, controls and hydraulic power systems under the direction of mechanical engineers, engineering technologists and engineering associates
- performing workshop and field tests using standard instruments and methods
- assisting in developing quality control tests for products and components
