2312-13 Dermatologist
Providing diagnostic, treatment and preventative medical services related to human skin disorders.
2312-13 Dermatologist Skill Level:
A bachelor degree or higher qualification, one years hospital-based training, and at least 5 years specialist study and training is required. Registration or licensing is required.
2312-13 Dermatologist Tasks Include:
- diagnosing and treating skin disorders including infections, genetic diseases of the skin, neoplastic disease, parasitic conditions and inflammatory and auto-immune disease
- diagnosing allergic and irritant skin conditions
- conducting microscopic and macroscopic examinations, and skin sensitivity tests
- surgically excises, irradiating and using cryotherapy for coetaneous malignancies and other growths
- advising patients about the treatment and care of skin
- prescribing and administering treatments and medications, and monitoring their effectiveness and side effect profiles
- providing consultancy and treatment services to assist with the care of patients with skin disease
- counseling patients
