2222-15 Sales Representative (Medical and Pharmaceutical Products)
Representing companies in selling medical, dental or veterinary equipment, supplies and pharmaceutical products.
Skill Level:
A bachelor degree or higher qualification or at least 5 years relevant experience is required. In some instances relevant experience is required in addition to the formal qualification.
Tasks Include:
- compiling lists of prospective customers using hospital and pharmacy directories and other sources
- visiting regular and prospective businesses related to health care, to establish and act on selling opportunities
- assessing customer needs and recommending medical, dental or veterinary equipment, supplies, drugs and medicines to hospitals, pharmacies or other health care practices
- supplying technical information and describing purposes for which supplies may be used and associated regulations
- quoting prices and credit terms, recording orders, completing sales contracts and arranging deliveries
- following up with customers to ensure satisfaction with products purchased and resolving any problems arising
- monitoring customers' changing needs, competitor activity and reporting on these developments to sales management
- preparing sales reports, and maintaining and submitting records of business expenses incurred
