Professional Builder
Managing the construction of dwellings and other buildings.
1191-13 Project Builder Skill Level:
A bachelor degree or higher qualification or at least 5 years relevant experience is required. In some instances relevant experience is required in addition to the formal qualification. Registration or licensing is required.
1191-13 Project Builder Tasks Include:
- examining clients' drawings and other specifications, preparing and submitting tenders, quotes and prices
- arranging submission of plans to local authorities
- building under contract, or subcontracts specialised building services
- coordinating labour resources, procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment
- overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work
- arranging building inspections by local authorities
- may be arranging drawing-up of plans and specifications
- may be consulting with architects and associates about building styles, methods and materials
- may be estimating quantities of building materials
